سوانح و سیرت خالدِ احمدیت حضرت مولانا ابوالعطاء صاحب جالندھری

Abul Ata Jalandhri

Maulana Abul Ata Jalandhri was born to Mian Imam-ud-Din and Ayesha Bibi in 1904. His father had accepted Ahmadiyyat at the hand of the Promised Messiah (as) in 1902.

His birth name was Allah Ditta but he used Abul Ata as a pen name and became more commonly known by the latter.

He was a devout servant of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat serving in various capacities; some being Principal Jamia-tul-Mubashirin (later Jamia Ahmadiyya), Additional Nazir Islah-o-Irshad for Talim-ul-Quran & Waqfe Arzi. He also had the honour to serve as missionary in the Holy Land and other Arab countries (1931-1936).

His greatest honour, shared with Maulana Jalal-ud-Din Shams and Maulana Abdur Rahman Khadim, is that he was given the title of Khalid-e-Ahmadiyyat by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II in an address to Jalsa Salana Rabwah, 1956.

He was a prolific writer and debater (Munazir). His debates with opponents of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat work as a reference in the field of Ahmadiyya discourse and polemics.

He launched and edited a magazine “Al Furqan” for many years.

His sons and sons-in-law inherited his legacy and served the Jamaat in various capacities. Ataul Mujeeb Rashed Saheb is the Imam of the London Mosque and missionar in charge of the UK chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat.

Abul Ata Jalandhari Saheb passed away in Rabwah in 1977.
