Special Human Rights Report on Ahmadis Persecution Eidul Adha 2024
Background
The persecution of Ahmadis in Pakistan dates back to the constitutional amendment of 1974, which declared Ahmadis non-Muslims. This amendment was the culmination of decades of growing religious intolerance and political manoeuvring. The hostility re towards Ahmadis intensified with the promulgation
4 of Ordinance XxX in 1984, which further restricted their
religious freedoms by prohibiting them from calling
islims or publicly engaging in preaching or Islamic practices. This legal framework set the stage for widespread discrimination against Ahmadis in various aspects of life, including their ability to perform religious rituals.
